To keep the crossfader visible when functions other than the Mixer are selected use the Layout > Show floating crossfader when mixer is hidden option.

Each deck has the following channel strip:

NOTE: Additional filtering effects are avaiable under the Effects panel and from the Effector VST plugin.

Select from up to 3 effects from the menu for each deck. Many of these effects have tempo-synced modulation controlled by the main knob. NOTE: VST plugins provide you with unlimited effects options. Deckadance includes the Effector VST effect.

Sample parts of your track and play them back as loops or one-shot samples, using one of the inbuilt sampler slots.

NOTE: You can drag from one pad to another to copy and from the Deck header info bar to a pad to sample it.

Peak Scope

The Peakscope shows Deck A peaks in the upper half and Deck B peaks in the lower half. This arrangement of peaks is perfect for visual beatmatching of the decks.

VST Host

Deckadance can host one VST plugin per deck. Before VST plugins are available here you will need to locate your VST folder and scan for plugins using the VST options. Deckadance includes the Effector VST plugin that provides 12 performance oriented effects.

Gross Beat

Gross Beat is a real-time pitch, position and volume manipulation effect. Gross Beat processes audio in a 2-bar rolling window as controlled by time and volume mapping envelopes. This makes beat-synced glitch, stutter, repeat, scratching and gating effects a breeze.

To load a preset - Click on the arrow at the bottom of the target pad and then select from the Presets menu. These are categorized according to purpose.

Gross Beat Editor

To open the editor click on the arrow at the bottom of the pad to be edited and select Show editor. The editor is 4 beats/1 bar wide (horizontal axis) and 8 beats/2 bars deep (vertical axis). This makes it possible to step back up to 8 beats from the current playback position, assuming there is room. Take a moment to look at the screen-shots below to familiarize yourself with the editor controls.

For example (above) - Play would proceed normally for the 1st beat. Pause for beats 2 and 3. On beat 4 start playing normally again, starting from a position 6 beats prior to the current real-time position. The real-time position is the point where Deckadance would be if the Gross Beat effect was not triggered.

Time and volume The Time and Volume envelopes are overlaid, the selected envelope shows in yellow while the deselected envelope shows in gray. Use the switches on the upper right to select them. Click the eye icon to hide/show an envelope. The Volume envelope scales from 100% level at the top to 0% (muted) at the bottom. Realistic scratching effects make use of quick mutes to create the rhythmic pulse, along with the time (direction & speed) effect.
