DJ Bigz broke into the club scene shortly after relocating from his hometown of Valdosta, Georgia, where following a short college and football stint, injury would end his sporting and academic career. Guided by long-time friend, DJ D LOVE, Bigz began breaking and spinning the hottest music whenever and wherever possible. He continued his academic study of turntables at the celebrated Scratch DJ Academy in NY, developed in part by the late great Jam Master Jay, on his path to honing his skills on deck.
Now residing in sunny South Florida, DJ Bigz tears down the club scene four nights a week. Known for his unique style of craft and old-school intuition, Bigz continues to defy odds by spinning the hottest music with over-the-top performances.
Moreover, he's part of the mighty international collective, BUMSQUADDJZ, the first of its kind boasting the largest meeting ground for DJ's in the world. With chapters in the United States, Croatia, UK, France, Spain and several others across the globe, Bumsquaddjz.com garners over a million hits a month.
In 2010, Bigz signed on with the Stanton Group as an official Brand Ambassador of products including Cerwin-Vega, KRK & Stanton. His touring kit, for charity/corporate/club and private events includes four Cerwin-Vega CVA-28's and a pair of CVA-118's. He spins STR8.150's and uses the M.207 mixer.
"To quote DJ Skribble, he says, 'A DJ should be able to go into any kind of party and adapt to any kind of situation'", says Bigz. "That's my intention, and of course having the best tools and having Stanton decks and mixers only makes my job easier. I say, 'Yabba-Dabba-Doo!' These things ROCK!"
