Richard Devine is a sound programmer extraordinare. For the past three years, he’s remixed top Warp artists such as the Aphex Twin and Mike Patton (of Faith No More). Devine has released 4 full-length albums on Schematic, Warp, Asphodel, and Sublight records and has performed his own music mayhem across the globe.
Based out of Atlanta, Georgia, Devine has scored films for Touchstone Pictures and others. Devine has collaborated with Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, composed and designed commercials for Nike and done audio work for companies including, Audi, BMW, Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Scion, Coke, LandRover, Lexus, Peugeot, Dodge, HBO, Nestle, McDonald's, Sprite, Sony, and Spike Television.
In 2007, Devine signed a deal with Sony Media to release his first two Sound Effects libraries, "Pulse" and "The Electronic Manuscript" which won 2009's best sample library by Remix Technology Awards. in 2008 Richard launched a new sound design company "Devinesound". Having worked with nearly all the major companies that have a hand in the electronic music scene, Devine has nestled himself into a key player in the industry.
When DJ’ing, Devine uses the touch-sensitive, Stanton SC SYSTEM 3. “It’s been wonderful for my DJ setup, using Native Instruments Traktor Pro DJ. The SC System allows me to control all the parameters in a very fluid gestural way.” Undoubtedly, the fluidity of the workflow helps Devine achieve that signature “ear-tearing” sound.Richard Devine
