STANTON C.314

For over 50 years Stanton has been an elite DJ brand, with products ranging from turntables and high performance cartridges to CD players and mixers. So obviously I was enthusiastic about taking the Stanton C.314 professional tabletop CD player for a spin. Even at first glance it is impressive, with a sleek, comfortable design and a fully-loaded user interface.

The C.314 has four built-in memory pads for saving loops, cue points and samples; seven high quality DSP effects: manual filter, auto filter, echo, phase, flanger, transform and pan (with auto beat-sync and jog wheel control); and six beat-sync time parameters for FX (1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1/1, 2/1, and 4/1). This combination of tools lets the user run wild with ideas; loops are as easy as going in and out. Not com-fortable with the way the loop sounds? The jog wheel gives you the ability to jog either backward or forward in time, thus giving you that tight loop you long for. Once a loop has been established, you can move along and award it different cutting-edge effects, and with the turn of a time knob, ratio knob, minus knob and plus button, fine-tune the effects' parameters. Soft pads make it easy to recreate a different beat sequence from the original CD that is playing. And to make things more interesting, the C.314 lets you record the beat sequence and play it back in turn, giving the record an beat sequence and play it back in turn, giving the record an beat sequence and play it back in turn, giving the record an beat sequence and play it back in turn, giving the record an entirely new twist.

The Stanton C.314 eliminates the need to have your studio space cluttered with different sound-enhancing devices. If you are looking for an affordable, reliable product that provides a dynamic sound, creative tools and a user-friendly interface, then you're gonna love the C.314.
